ABAG’s Write Strong Writer’s Group at Maple Valley Library
“Why do we write?” Is a question often asked of published and aspiring authors. But if we think about it for a moment, everyone writes in some form or fashion. Whether it’s a simple grocery list, an endless to-do-list, or spontaneously jotting down our thoughts on scraps of paper so we won’t forget something, writing is a part of our everyday lives. We put pen to paper for all kinds of reasons, often without giving it much thought.
Then there are those who take the pen a step further. What may have begun as the mundane recording of daily thoughts and experiences evolves into something more, a passion for storytelling.
They become writers, creating characters, and stories that speak to our own life experiences. Whether expressed through poetry, a gripping mystery or a grand adventure. Their words invite us to explore, reflect and imagine. Our imaginations soar as vivid words paint pictures in our minds, while stories we read, stir melodies in our hearts that linger long after the final page.
ABAG Write Strong is a place where our writers take flight together, exchanging ideas, sharing stories and encouraging one another to grow. It’s a place where we nurture the dreams of becoming an author. Authors whose stories do more than sit on bookshelves, but to find their way into the hearts of readers and become treasured additions to their personal literary collections.
After all, writing is what we all do. But for some of us, there is a desire to push the pen further, to write stronger, and to bring the stories within us to life. And that is what Write Strong is all about. Growing together, one word, one story and one dream at a time.
