A one-day professional development experience designed to strengthen the capacity, sustainability, and economic mobility of artists across Northeast Ohio.

Design Challenge

Teams will present an immersive, mannequin-based textile exhibition exploring culture, identity, memory, and future vision. Open to artists and designers of all backgrounds, this experience invites bold storytelling through cloth transforming fabric, form, and space into powerful visual narratives.

    Powered by volunteer leadership, the American Advertising Federation is the largest professional organization for the advertising and marketing industry, and we exist to celebrate, educate, connect and advocate on behalf of the members who make up our industry.



  • Joyful Interactions

    Joyful Interactions is a heartfelt greeting card and gift shop dedicated to helping people celebrate, comfort, and connect through meaningful moments. We offer thoughtfully curated cards and unique gifts for every occasion. Our mission is to create a welcoming space where every customer feels seen, valued, and inspired to share joy with others.

  • The Akron Griot Project

    The Akron Griot Project is a multigenerational cultural initiative led by Akron natives Ebony and Kwa Hill. It is rooted in the belief that our elders are living libraries and stories are sacred. Inspired by the African proverb, “When an elder dies, a library burns,” the project uplifts the voices of community elders, connects them with youth, and preserves their wisdom through live events, oral recordings, and digital storytelling.

  • Summit ArtSpace

    Summit Artspace is an artist incubator whose mission is to connect local artists to the resources they need to thrive. Based in a 55,000 square foot historic building in downtown Akron, it is a hub for artists and arts supporters to connect and share ideas. Summit Artspace offers affordable studio and event space for artists, artist-centered galleries, professional development programs for artists, and more. The building is open and free to the public on Fridays and Saturdays from 12–5 p.m. and during special public events on monthly Thursday evenings, which engage the community with art and local creators.

  • Friends of Main Library

    The Friends of Main Library (FOML) supports the goals of the Akron-Summit County Public Library with programming and resources. The Friends operates the Library Shop at Main, helps underwrite the Library operating levy campaign, contributes to special programming and supports other Library initiatives.

  • West Hill Neighborhood Organization

    Mission: To support growth, investment and development through community events and outreach, to encourage neighborhood pride and a desire to live, work and play in West Hill, Akron.
