The Akron Black Artist Guild (ABAG) invites Black artists from across Northeast Ohio to submit work for the 2026 Outlined In Black Annual Art Exhibition. As our signature exhibition, Outlined In Black celebrates the creativity, excellence, and diverse perspectives of Black artists while creating meaningful opportunities for connection, cultural storytelling, and community engagement.
The exhibition will be on view at Akron Soul Train from October 2–31, 2026, with the Opening Reception on Friday, October 2.
We welcome submissions across a variety of artistic disciplines, including visual art, digital media, and performance.
Artwork must have been completed within the last three years.
Two-dimensional artwork: Maximum size of 48 in. × 60 in.
Three-dimensional artwork: Maximum size of 5 ft. × 4 ft.
Digital artwork is accepted. Artists are responsible for providing any equipment or technology needed to display their work.
Performance artists (poetry, music, and dance) are encouraged to apply. Selected performances will take place during the Opening Reception.
