MISSION

The Akron Black Artist Guild (ABAG) is a 501(c)(3) network of Black artists across disciplines dedicated to building a thriving, connected creative community by linking artists to meaningful opportunities, resources, and education that support artistic, professional, and economic growth.

We are the Akron Black Artist Guild, a dynamic community of talented and passionate Black artists who have come together with a singular mission: to create a thriving ecosystem that empowers and elevates the Black artistic voice. With a focus on education and professional development, we are dedicated to connecting our members to the resources and opportunities they need to grow and succeed in their craft. We are more than just a network of artists; we are a bold community on a canvas and a vessel for diversity and inclusion in Akron’s art sector.

VISION

Our vision is to be the leading voice in Akron’s Black artistic community, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and inclusiveness. We strive to inspire and support the next generation of Black artists, creating opportunities for them to showcase their talents and bring their unique perspectives to the world. By providing access to resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities, we aim to uplift and empower Black artists, helping them reach their full potential.
