WORDS into ACTION
Let’s transform our words into action and become the change we want to see, while challenging the prevailing narratives we've encountered. The call for action has grown significantly, and what better way to initiate this shift than by returning to the basics? We believe that art can play a crucial role in this process, which is why we've partnered with Civic University in Seattle, Civic Saturday Akron, local theater group Genesis Theatre, and Emmanuel Christian Academy to present "Words into Action." This inspiring community event aims to harness literacy and art to promote good civic character within Akron's diverse communities.
"Words into Action" offers a unique educational experience for youth and families, allowing them to engage with artists and community organizations. By blending literary education with artistic expression, this event seeks to ignite creativity and deepen our understanding of good civic character and its profound impact on our community. It will highlight the positive qualities in individuals and the collective achievements we can accomplish together. This event is not just a gathering; it serves as a powerful catalyst, encouraging our community to take charge of its environment.
We invite everyone to initiate their own projects that put words into action, whether it’s writing letters of encouragement to neighbors, cleaning up sidewalks, planting flower beds, or organizing clothing drives. Together, we can create meaningful change in our neighborhoods, empowering each person to contribute to the greater good.
