4 Habits of Successful Entrepreneurs

Written by Jordyn Austin

As an artist, you may also want to pursue entrepreneurship. We love seeing artists chase their dreams and become their own bosses if they desire. Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur? We compiled a short list for you!

Here are four habits of successful entrepreneurs:

Goal Setting

As the saying goes, you plan to fail if you fail to plan. Goal setting is essential because it helps shape what you do and why. When you have a vision, goals help you bring that vision to life. When setting goals, they should be S.M.A.R.T. goals — specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-based.

Cultivate Community

Successful entrepreneurs don’t become successful on their own. They always have a network of people pouring into them in some capacity. Find people who have similar goals and drive and learn from each other. Creating this network of people will set you up for success because two minds are better than one.

Productivity

How you spend your time as an entrepreneur matters. Try to eliminate distractions frequently because they can stunt your workflow and keep you from getting anything done. The key to productivity is planning and focus. Take a little time each day to create a plan and schedule time to focus on those tasks.

Healthy Boundaries

Healthy boundaries protect you from distractions and saying yes to the things you should say no to. We can’t do everything and be in all places simultaneously, so you must decide what is important and protect it.
