ART + PARK COLLECTIVE
The Art & Park Collective is a partnership with ABAG and Summit Metro Parks, establishing equitable opportunities for black artists in Summit County. Artists will produce learning experiences through a series of nature-inspired workshops to showcase the work of local Black artists in various Summit Metro Park locations.
Roots & Rhythm with artist Berhane Okantah. An interactive workshop for all ages to that explored nature through African drumming & artistic expression.
Poetry Path with artist Xposyur. Hikers used all five senses to write about life’s journey. Surrounded by nature, the workshop encouraged participants to pen poetry about life’s challenges, pivots, and desires to create new paths to discover.
The Zine Zone with artists Stephanie Stewart, Robert Greer & Kyla Decatur. Participants created a self-published booklet expressing your artistic vision that captures the essence and endearment of nature.
